Stephanie Dosen @ The Social

With perhaps the most attractive band in the world Stephanie takes the stage to perform songs from her debut album ‘A Lily for the Spectre’, the last time I saw her she was solo so the addition of the band brings the songs alive and closer to that of the record. Her in between rambling are no less weird and taking subjects ranging from eating koala bears to hermaphrodites she is genuinely engaging and funny. But it’s her vocal range and guitar playing that set her apart, it’s easy to get lost in the songs and as my friend turned to me and said ‘I’d forgotten how beautiful she is’ which is very true. The crowd which is a lot smaller than I’d imagined were enthralled and very respectful, during the quietest moments you could hear a pin drop. If you ever get the chance to see her live do so because despite how good the album is it can never do justice to the person, Stephanie is a brilliant performer and an amazing person and this was a very special and amazing gig.
