The state we are in?

Walking to work every Sunday I go past a church. But today I realised that on the door they had two bouncers. Holy sh*t is there no hope? What state are we in if god needs doormen? I was under the impression that church was sanctity for all, that god and the church embraced everyone despite who they were or what problems they may have. Imagine going to worship and being told ‘your names not down your not coming in’. When will it all end? Bouncers on the door of the local police station? It really has become a sad time. My grandma never locked her door when we were little, you didn’t have too. Now we live in our own mini fortresses behind bars and locks, bolts and chains. We are creating little prisons for ourselves and yet we have done nothing wrong, we are incarcerating ourselves through fear. Fear of violence, fear that everything we have worked for could be gone in an instant and thus making all the hours we put in a waste of time. There is no respect anymore for those who have worked and earned, why go through all that when you can just take? Find some one vulnerable and just take theirs its easier than striving for you own. Where is the pride of working, saving and eventually getting something you really wanted? Is it worth it if when you have finally reached your goal someone instantly takes that away from you, and you have to go through the whole process again while they benefit from the fruits of your labour? The most annoying thing is you can’t fight back. If someone comes into your home or attacks you in the street and you do them some damage, you then become the one in trouble. You are not allowed to protect your own property. So you may as well put it in the hands of the gods and like my grandma all those years ago leave your door unlocked. Because if it is going to happen, it is going to happen and there is nothing you can do about it. Even if you wanted to.
